If the students reach the 4,444 collection goal by Friday, June 1st, the teachers will camp outside of Adelphia School on the night of Friday, June 8th.
Adelphia School’s students, parents, and staff will be launching their final community service project for 2011-2012 school year. The Can Can Camp Out, a food collection drive to benefit the Howell Food Pantry, is hoping to collect at least 4,444 canned goods. These non-perishable high-demand items will be collected and tallied at Adelphia School from Monday, May 14 through Friday, June 1. Staff members, students, friends of Adelphia are encouraged to make this a community-wide service project. Donations of canned goods, gift cards for food warehouses and supermarkets will also be accepted.
If the students meet the 4,444 collection goal by Friday, June 1st, the Adelphia staff has volunteered to Camp Out in the front of the school for the night. The Can Can Camp Out, which is scheduled for the evening of Friday, June 8th, will continue accepting food donations and also feature onsite visitation activities for students and parents including: music, fun games, and activities. The student activities will run from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM and collections of food items will be accepted by the Adelphia staff all night long!
In addition to the many successful community service projects already completed this year, Adelphia School continues to promote and recognize citizenship, leadership, and community involvement through their P.A.W.S. or Positive Actions Will Shine character education program, which helps in the developmental awareness of teaching students how to be positive role models.
